Wound Healing

The morbidity and mortality from chronic and acute wounds of varying etiology present a significant health care problem. In healthy patients, wound healing is characterized by proliferative and remodeling processes which replace and optimize tissue at the site of injury. However, wound healing is often impaired by a variety of pathologies including diabetes, vascular disease, and aging. In some cases, acute wounds and chronic wounds that fail to heal can lead to amputation and increased risk of mortality.

Arteriocyte is in the preclinical stage of evaluating the potential of its cellular therapy products to promote healing of both acute and chronic wounds.
